I like pretty things. Ponies are pretty. Rainbows are pretty, and yes, science fiction is pretty. Well, not all of it, not the icky movies they show on the Scifi Channel about giant spiders and stuff, but there is a lot of pretty things in scifi and fantasy. Fantasy is prettier than scifi, of course, because it has princesses, unicorns and angels. And sometimes angel princesses riding unicorns—you don’t get much prettier than that!

In science fiction and even horror (yuck!) you have to look harder for the pretty, but it’s there. Here is my top ten list of some pretty scifi things:

10 - Going through the Stargate

It’s so shiny and looks like the pool at my step dad’s house!
09 - Spore-shooting space flowers

Pretty from a distance, don’t get too close!
08 - Tom Welling
Tom Welling
Super dreamy!
07 - Bill Mumy & Angela Cartwright
Bill Mumy Angela Cartwright
They’re old now but they were so cute back in the olden days
06 - Two of the three Charmed witches
Charmed Witches
Not counting Rose McGowan who is kinda pretty, but slutty
05 - Kaylee’s fancy dress on Firefly
Kaylee from Firefly
Shiny!
04 - Starbuck
Starbuck, Battlestar Galactica
I think she’s pretty, eventhough she looks like my dad’s new girlfriend. I hope she’s not a Cylon!
03 - Starbuck
Starbuck, Classic Battlestar Galactica
On the old show she looked different, but still pretty.
02 - Alien princesses
Star Trek Alien Princess
This one was so pretty she made Captain Kirk cry.
01 - Precious-Moments-big-eyed anime children who save the world from aliens
Sailor Moon
NOT the anime my brother hides under his mattress! That is definitely not pretty.

In the future I’ll be bringing you other pretty stuff. My cousin Dwight has an extensive scifi DVD collection (he says the largest in the whole Scranton area!). Some of the TV shows are so old that people starring in them are dead. In the weeks to come I’ll be searching them all for pretty stuff, so stay tuned!!!!

AAYF,
