Car-nivore – 2001 

Created by Damon Lindelof (MTV’s Undressed) and Carlton Cuse (Amy Grant’s Old Fashioned Christmas), this action adventure series featured a werewolf that wandered the back roads of America fighting crime in a computerized, talking car.

Catchphrases: Tad “oooooooooow!” Car: “Stop grinding my gears, dog breath.”

This series really pushed the limits of supernatural television (and the patience of many viewers), with plot threads that went nowhere, strange coincidences and flashbacks that would come out of nowhere and go nowhere.  Still, some say it was one the most original series ever produced, comparing to shows like “The Prisoner,” “Twin Peaks,” and “Nanny and the Professor.” Later it would be revealed that the writers came up with most of their ideas while eating hallucinogenic mushrooms and watching reruns of Lidsville.

Pilot 
Detective Tad Montague (Luke Perry) doesn’t play by the rules.  His boss sees him as a loose cannon, women can’t keep their hands off him and he has brought more mobsters to justice than any other cop on the force. To keep an eye on Tad, his boss assigns him a new partner, a wise-cracking, computerized car (voiced by Andy Dick) named CUB (Computerized Urban Battlecar). Tad reluctantly accepts the new partner, and they are off to find a serial killer who only strikes on the night of a full moon.   Tad and CUB track down the killer, only to discover it is a werewolf.  Tad kills the beast, but not before being bitten.  Now cursed, Tad becomes a werewolf at the light of a full moon, or when he smells Old Spice aftershave! Tad and CUB hit the road to find the original werewolf and kill him to break the bloodline and the curse.

Episode 2 
A Tail of Two Cities
Tad and CUB track a werewolf to Minneapolis/St. Paul, where they uncover a counterfeit ring run by vampires. After being seduced and bitten by a beautiful Vampire, Tad is horrified to discover he is now a werewolf-vampire, craving both flesh and blood!!

Episode 3
The Glass Ballerina
Tad and CUB are on the trail of a drug kingpin who uses an army of zombies to rule his underworld empire.  After being bitten by a zombie, Tad is horrified to learn he has become a werewolf-vampire-zombie, craving flesh, blood and brains!!!  Can he break three curses to become human again?

Episode 4
Sub Rosa
In this flashback episode, we see how Tad went from being an accountant with a drug habit to a top-notch cop and leader of a rock band.  Unfortunately, Tad becomes trapped in the flashback and it’s up to CUB to rescue him and bring him back to the future.

Episode 5
Down the Hatch
After Tad accidentally drips his blood into CUB’s gas tank, CUB becomes a werewolf-vampire-zombie-Transformer, craving flesh, blood, brains and gasoline!!!!

Episode 6
The Other 48 Days
While tracking down a beautiful, freckled fugitive, Tad is swindled by a handsome, dimpled flim-flan man who gets the title to CUB. Meanwhile, the beautiful fugitive turns out to be an alien hybrid.  After she bites Tad, he is horrified to discover he has become a werewolf-vampire-zombie-alien host, craving flesh, blood, brains and world domination!!!!!

Episode 7 (unaired)
Fight 815
Tracking the flim-flan man to Australia, Tad attempts to rescue CUB. But the conman gets the best of Tad again and escapes with CUB to Los Angles.  Tad books the first flight home, only to crash on a strange island with a jungle of mystery.   After being bitten by a mysterious smoke monster, Tad finds himself cured of all curses and alien parasites, but at what cost? AT WHAT COST?!?
